Terms of Service

Last updated: 3 July 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Brio, an AI espresso coaching app operated by an independent developer based in Switzerland (“Brio”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Brio.

What Brio does

Brio is a coaching tool for home espresso. It stores what you tell it about your setup, identifies coffees from photos, reads shot telemetry from a compatible Gaggimate-modified machine when you ask it to, and suggests brewing changes generated by artificial intelligence. Brio can send brewing profiles to your machine at your request. Availability of specific features may depend on your equipment.

Eligibility and your account

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may suspend or terminate access that appears abusive or outside intended personal use.

Subscriptions and payments

Refunds

Purchases made through the App Store are handled under Apple’s terms. Refund requests for App Store purchases are managed by Apple; request one via reportaproblem.apple.com. Where mandatory consumer-protection law gives you a right of withdrawal or refund, that right is unaffected by these Terms.

AI suggestions, your equipment, and safety

Brio’s coaching is generated by AI and provided for guidance only. It can be wrong, incomplete, or unsuitable for your specific equipment. You are responsible for operating your espresso machine and grinder safely and within their manufacturers’ instructions. Brio is not a substitute for your own judgment, and is not responsible for damage to equipment, injury, or loss resulting from actions you take based on its suggestions. Never rely on Brio for anything safety-critical.

Service availability and changes

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, and the service may occasionally be unavailable. We aim to give reasonable notice of material changes but cannot always do so.

No warranty

Brio is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law — including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to Brio is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (including liability for death, personal injury, or intentional or grossly negligent conduct).

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence remain unaffected.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify you in the app. The date at the top reflects the latest version, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
